Cement is priced per 50kg bag, and the right bag for your job depends on the strength grade, not just the brand. This guide explains the grades we stock in Francistown and Letlhakane, what moves the price, and how to get a current quote.

What does a bag of cement cost?
Cement prices in Botswana move with factory gate prices, fuel and freight costs, and the grade you choose — 42.5 costs more per bag than 32.5. Bulk and full-pallet orders also price differently from single bags. Because these figures change, we quote current prices per order rather than publish a number that could be out of date next month.

PPC vs AfriSam and other brands
PPC and AfriSam are the two brands Botswana builders ask for most, and both produce consistent, standards-compliant cement across the 32.5 and 42.5 grades. In practice the grade and freshness of the bag matter more than the brand name — a fresh 42.5 from either brand will outperform an old, moisture-damaged bag of anything.
Buying tips
- Match the grade to the job — don't pay for 42.5 where 32.5 is specified, and never use 32.5 for structural work.
- Check the bags — bags should be dry, undamaged and free of hard lumps.
- Store it right — keep bags off the ground, under cover, and use oldest stock first.
- Order once — a full-pallet delivery is usually cheaper per bag than several small trips.
